Speakeasy Announces Two New Voice Services for Small Business
SEATTLE, October 30, 2007—Speakeasy (www.speakeasy.net), a Best Buy company (NYSE:BBY) and one of the nation's top voice and data providers, is expanding its Voice over IP (VoIP) portfolio to offer two new digital voice options for small businesses. The new additions include voice over Speakeasy's ultra-fast 15 Mbps broadband and a Small Office Calling Plan which can be used with any broadband service.
For small businesses that want download speeds of up to 15 Mbps, Speakeasy is now one of the only providers in the United States to offer ADSL2 broadband with VoIP. With voice over ADSL2, customers receive Speakeasy's voice-optimized nationwide network, uptime and quality of service guarantees and award-winning customer support. Customers use a single high-speed connection for both voice and data traffic, where both inbound and outbound voice traffic is prioritized over data. This new product combination is also a significant cost savings for many small businesses. For example, the monthly cost for 10 employees using ADSL2 and VoIP is around $400, roughly the price of a single data-only T1 today.
Speakeasy's EasyVoiceSM Small Office Calling Plan now offers businesses with five employees or fewer the option of using any broadband service provider. Speakeasy recommends using EasyVoice Small Office with Speakeasy broadband connectivity for the best quality voice service, but customers now have the option to choose any broadband provider. The Small Office Calling Plan is priced at $19.95 a month, per employee.
"By offering both voice and broadband, Speakeasy has the ability to control the quality of service and reliability a customer receives when using our voice services over our broadband," said Bruce Chatterley, Speakeasy's President and CEO. "However, we wanted to give customers the flexibility to choose their broadband provider to accommodate a range of small business needs."
These new VoIP services complement Speakeasy's new relationship with Best Buy For Business. In April 2007, Best Buy acquired Speakeasy to deepen its relationships with small business customers. Best Buy For Business and Speakeasy have aligned to provide small and medium-size business customers innovative solutions to help their businesses succeed. Speakeasy broadband, voice and managed services are now available through Best Buy For Business in the United States.
Speakeasy also today released two new whitepapers about VoIP technology for small businesses. The papers are titled VoIP Success Drivers for Small Business and Hosted VoIP and the Distributed Workforce. Both whitepapers can be found at www.speakeasy.net/about/whitepapers.
