Company Background

VERITY Wealth Advisors is a private wealth management firm in San Francisco. Christopher Wilkens and Evan Oliver co-founded the business to help individuals and families manage their wealth, build investment portfolios and "own the right things in the right way". When their landlord stopped providing PBX service, they chose Speakeasy Hosted Voice to avoid the up-front expense, ongoing maintenance, and eventual obsolescence of purchasing their own PBX.

  Staying in touch with clients is crucial in the wealth management business. However, when they were forced to move from a shared PBX system administered by their landlord, VERITY didn't want to get bogged down in long-term commitments or high monthly bills. "We didn't want to be in the phone business," says Wilkens. With a very small staff, VERITY needed to minimize administrative hassles in order to stay focused on their professional responsibilities.
• Solution
  With Speakeasy, VERITY was able to upgrade from DSL to a T1 connection, and their phone system has gone from basic phones and voicemail to a full-featured solution including Auto Attendant, all for about the same monthly cost. As a hosted solution, Speakeasy requires minimal physical equipment and no maintenance. Speakeasy engineers invested considerable up-front time and energy to develop a logical call flow and network architecture for the business.
