Michael Apgar
Chairman and Founder
Mike Apgar founded Speakeasy as one of the world's first Internet cafes and built it into the nation's largest independent broadband service provider. He served as its president and CEO from 1994 to 2003 and then acted as the company's lead strategist until 2006. Apgar has launched a new, full-time venture Ookla (www.ookla.com), a company focused on web-based services, and remains chairman of Speakeasy's board of directors.

Bruce A. Chatterley
President and CEO
As president and CEO, Bruce Chatterley oversees day-to-day operations and is responsible for setting the strategic direction that drives dramatic increases in Speakeasy's overall growth. Chatterley joined Speakeasy in 2003, bringing nearly 20 years of domestic and international high-tech and telecommunications experience to the company. Prior to Speakeasy, he was CEO of ViAir, a Seattle developer of carrier-based mobile messaging software. Earlier, Chatterley was president of eServices & Small/Middle Markets for Concur Technologies and also held several executive positions with Ameritech Corporation (now SBC), managing more than $9 billion of total revenues. Earlier in his career, Chatterley held various positions with US West, General Electric and IBM. He earned his MBA from the Kogod College of Business Administration at American University and his BSBA from Central Michigan University.

Neville Vere Nicoll, Managing Director
Neville Vere Nicoll is a founding partner and managing director of BV-Cornerstone Ventures, LP. He has been involved in the venture capital and private equity business for nearly 20 years, both as an investor and a CEO of venture-backed companies. Nicoll was president and CEO of Soricon Corporation and later held the same position with Kryptonics. He was also a founding partner of the UK-based Beaverbrook Group, a venture capital and private equity fund. Nicoll graduated from the European Business School in Paris, France in 1980. He also serves as a director to the board of BioCentrex.

Eric Zimits
Eric Zimits has been a managing director for Granite Ventures since 2000 and focuses on early-stage communications companies. Prior to this, he was managing director and head of the communications research group with Hambrecht & Quist (and later Chase H&Q). Previously, Eric was a general partner at Volpe, Welty & Company and has held senior analyst positions at Rauscher Pierce Refsnes and Morgan Keegan & Company. He currently serves on the boards of IXI Mobile, Layer N Networks, RF Magic and Speakeasy. Eric received a BSE from Purdue University and an MBA from Tulane University's A.B. Freeman School of Business.

Andreas von Blottnitz
Andreas von Blottnitz assumed the role of Venture Partner for BV Capital in August of 2004. Prior to this, he was president of Citrix Online, following its acquisition of Expertcity, where he had served as the latter company's president and CEO. At Expertcity, von Blottnitz successfully grew the company from a start-up to a leader in Web-based remote access and customer support technology, with its market-leading GoToMyPC remote access, GoToAssist remote support and GoToMeeting collaboration solutions. Previously, von Blottnitz served in senior management capacities with several online media companies and launched AOL Germany in his role as its president and CEO.

David Silverman
David Silverman joined the 3i US team in 2000 and is part of 3i's late-stage investing team. Before joining 3i, Silverman was a technology investment banking vice president at Robertson Stephens and also worked as a corporate attorney at the law firms of Ropes & Gray and Sidley & Austin. He served during the George H.W. Bush administration as an aide to the Counsel to the President, acting as a liaison to several Washington research institutes and to the Executive Office during the President's Deregulation Initiative. He currently sits on the boards of Forte Design Systems and SCP Global and is a member of the Venture Capital Advisory Board for the Fabless Semiconductor Association. Silverman earned his JD from Stanford Law School and graduated summa cum laude from Dartmouth College.

John Gerdelman
John Gerdelman is a co-founder and executive chairman of Intelliden Corp., a software solutions company. In 2002, John took on the bankruptcy reorganization of Metromedia Fiber Networks and successfully emerged from Chapter 11 in late 2003. Prior to this, he worked with several new ventures as managing member of Mortonsgroup LLC. He has held various positions with MCI Telecommunications Corporation and Baxter Travenol Corporation. Gerdelman served in the U.S. Navy as a naval aviator and received his bachelor's degree in chemistry from the College of William and Mary where he now serves on the Board of Visitors. He currently serves as a director of McData, APAC, Sycamore Networks, Inc. and YDI Wireless.

Mitch Wienick
Mitch Wienick is currently a partner at Philadelphia-based Kelleher Associates, Inc., and is responsible for business development and counseling of executives in transition as well as proactive performance coaching of senior-level clients. Prior to Kelleher, he was a "backed executive" with Willis Stein & Associates, a highly regarded private equity firm.
He is the former president and CEO of CDI Corp. and was president of Ameritech Consumer Services. He has also worked for Borden Inc., Kraft Foods and Procter & Gamble. He holds a degree in economics from Brooklyn College and a MBA from New York University. He serves currently on the advisory board of Baird Venture Partners and the board of directors of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
